Privacy Policy

In short: Roomind keeps your home’s data on your phone and backs it up to our servers so you don’t lose it. We don’t show ads, don’t track you across apps or websites, and don’t sell your data. Photos you scan are processed and then discarded.
Who we are
Roomind is developed by Miraç Akif Merttürk, an independent developer based in Türkiye (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, write to support@roomind.app.
What we collect and why
Your home’s data
The rooms, places, items (names, notes, quantities, units, categories, expiry dates), shopping list, saved recipes and the history of changes you make. This is the app’s core content. It is stored on your phone first, and Roomind works without an internet connection.
Backup and sync
When your phone is online, Roomind creates an anonymous account for you in the background and backs up your home’s data to our servers, so it can be restored and shared. The anonymous account has no name or email attached.
Sign in with Apple or Google (optional)
If you link Apple or Google to keep your backup across phones, we receive the email address and account identifier that Apple or Google shares with us. With Apple you can choose to hide your email; we then only see a relay address.
Home sharing
If you invite someone to your home, they can see and (as an editor) change that home’s data, along with the display name you set. You can remove members at any time; members can leave.
AI features (Roomind Pro)
- Receipt scanning and adding from a photo: the photo you take or pick is sent to our server, read by an AI model to list the products, and then discarded. We do not store your photos. For photos of a place, the name of that place is sent along to help the model.
- Recipe ideas: the names of food items you have at home, their expiry dates and the preferences you pick are sent to generate recipes.
- To enforce daily and monthly limits, our server counts how many requests each account makes. It does not keep the content of requests.
Subscriptions
Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details. A subscription management provider checks whether your account has an active subscription; it receives your anonymous account identifier and the purchase information Apple provides.
Camera, photos and notifications
Roomind uses the camera and your photo library only when you choose to scan something. Expiry reminders are scheduled on your phone; we don’t collect a push notification token.
What we don’t do
No advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no data sales, no sharing with data brokers. We don’t use your data to build advertising profiles.

We rely on carefully selected service providers in the following categories to run Roomind. They process data only on our behalf and under their own security commitments.

Some providers are outside your country, including outside the EU and Türkiye. Where required, transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual safeguards.
How long we keep data
We keep your home’s data while your account exists. Items you delete are marked as deleted and removed from your devices. Signing out removes the data from that phone. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings › Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, your sign-in, and every home where you are the only member, with all its items, history, lists, recipes and receipts, from our servers and from that phone. Homes you share with others stay with them (if you manage one, another member takes over); your profile is removed, so your name no longer appears in their history. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the app’s Apple sign-in token. If you can’t use the app, email us and we complete the deletion within 30 days. If your account stays anonymous and you delete the app, the data on our servers can no longer be linked to you, and we delete inactive anonymous accounts.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU or KVKK in Türkiye), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to its processing. Write to support@roomind.app. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Roomind is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
This website
roomind.app sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and tell you in the app for significant changes.
